Heather Land - LWO Dance Ministry
 What Do We Believe?
The Bible records many instances of " dance." According to Webster's Dictionary " dance" is defined as:
" to move rhythmically to music improvised or planned steps and gestures."
Therefore, dance is biblical and is supported.
According to the Bible Dictionary, dance was used by the Israelites to express their emotions. In a specific occurence, the Israelites danced before the Lord to thank Him for delivering them through the Sea of Reeds (Exodus 15:20). They DANCED because they had been LIBERATED.
Sometimes, when we think about how good God has been to us, it makes us want to dance before Him with all of our might. It is a way of showing how much we appreciate the Father. We have an idea of how David felt when the Bible says,"...David...Danced before the Lord with all his might" (2 samuel 6:14). There are times when simple words are not enough; words can't be found to express what is being felt toward God. This is one of the reasons Ecclesiastes 3:4 states: " There is a time to mourn and a time to dance." In the New Testament, the father of the prodigal expressed his joy through music and dance. Finally, Psalms 150:4 declares: "Praise Him with the...DANCE."
Our desire is to influence young people in a positive light by sowing seeds of life into them. We do so by ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ through hip-hop dance. We instruct the members of our group that when we dance it is our ministry unto the Lord.
