"Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom." (NIV) Acts 6:3
Mission StatementTo be servants of God while assisting in the services of the church so that things may flow decently and in order, thus enhancing the ministry of God's Word, and the move of the holy Spirit.
Introduction The Apostles in the book of Acts asked their followers to "find seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint to this duty." (Acts 6:3) The duty was to serve the disciples' daily needs. The daily needs are those things which may come up from time to time, that the Pastor or his Associates should not have to meet.
Requisites -Must be a man or woman of convictions. -Must be a student of the Bible. -Must have a prayer life. -Must enjoy the worship experience.
Qualifications
-Be serious. -Do not be double-tongued. -Do not be addicted to wine, prescribed or non-prescribed drugs. -Do not be greedy for gain. -Hold the mystery of the faith in a clear conscience. -Be tested first; those who prove themselves blameless may serve. -Be the husband of one wife. -Manage children and home well.
The deacons and deaconess are for the most part, servants just like the Pastor.
